The Ur lineage

Hated from their fellows and shunned, yetis of the Ur family were seldom allowed to grow past childhood, and thus it was still rarer that one would choose not only not to flee their place of birth but even challenge the whole nest to usurp the previous king.

The reason for this hatred was simple; the ancestors of the Ur family had been followers of Lyra before the Bloodbath (Ur meaning something akin to "Four-Eyes" in the yeti's simple tongue), and were thus hated for their relationships with peoples other than their own and, crucially, their cold and often ruthless intelligence.

The Yeti tribes composed the great majority of the largest stable army within Naluund, the Horde; however, their lackluster leadership and "creative" tactical decisions meant that for the great majority of History the Horde was routinely beaten back and left to perish by its own devices by the neighboring states.

With an Ur at the helm, however, who had every ability to pilot such an impressive army to its utmost efficiency, things were much different.

El-Ur, however, was a deviant among deviants.

By this time the Obsidian Empire had been in the claws of the conquering war they had started for nearly three decades; and while the people of Obsidya were hardy and determined soldiers, it was clear to anyone with half a brain and an accurate map that, by now, there was nothing to be done but surrender and pray for clemency.
