Hubris

Hubris is the art of exploiting the workings of the Material Plane and redirecting Oniric Manipulation onto one's own body and mind, usually with drastic results.

Standard Hubris

Standard Hubris (commonly referred to as just "Hubris") is the most common form of the art, and refers to a straightforward manipulation of one's body, usually to enhance or grant oneself specific properties.

Of course, mangling one's body in real time is not ever really "straightforward", and thus this practice was reserved for the most apt users of the Oniric Arts, and even then heavily regulated through years of training and exercise.

Examples of this are the Fibers of Creation sometimes used by Ambitions to enhance their muscles or the lung and immune system modifications that enabled Fey Wyrmcallers to safely inhale their mounts' toxic powders.

On a more bombastic scale, due to her unique nature Paige can use the same technique to completely change her body and aptitudes through the intercession of a Memento.

High Hubris

High Hubris is a technique reserved for the most powerful Awoken to ever walk the land, and a drastic one even for them. 

When faced with impossible odds, an Awoken may throw all of their chips in and try to harness the raw power of their Ego through their destruction.

If successful, their innate power coupled with the one they obtain from the now-dead Ego is usually enough to push them to godhood.
